Coaching Changes

How do you determine coaching changes? Who get's fired why? What are some stories you have about these changes?

As it stands, hiring and firing can only be done by editing the coach name in team data mode. I tend not to keep any detailed coaching stats or records, so there's a surprisingly low turnover of coaches in my league.

As an aside, Larry's use of coach name modification for the pre-defined coaches is a source of amusement. I like playing "match the coach"... George Cypher... :)

Does anyone use the 10% worst rule of getting fired for coaches, I am interested in hearing about these decisions if anyone has any?

Firing and hiring coaches is not my favorite thing to do in UFL. It is a labor for me. I normally fire the head coaches whose teams have the worst records in the league unless the coach has won a league championship or conference championship in recent years. I also normally don't fire coaches that have recently been hired to give them a chance to build their teams. Coaches normally last about 15-30 seasons (normally on multiple teams) in my leagues, mostly because I would rather use existing coaches then find rookie coaches to hire. If a coach is up in years (25-30+) and they win a championship, I retire them so that they can go out on top.
