Firing Coaches

Post by Wisnoodles »

What is the logic or what do you use to decide if a coach is going to be fired and who is the replacement?

I have a reply to this in the Coaching Changes topic, but I'll post it again here so this doesn't go unanswered:

Firing and hiring coaches is not my favorite thing to do in UFL. It is a labor for me. I normally fire the head coaches whose teams have the worst records in the league unless the coach has won a league championship or conference championship in recent years. I also normally don't fire coaches that have recently been hired to give them a chance to build their teams. Coaches normally last about 15-30 seasons (normally on multiple teams) in my leagues, mostly because I would rather use existing coaches then find rookie coaches to hire. If a coach is up in years (25-30+) and they win a championship, I retire them so that they can go out on top.
