NOTABLE WEEK TWO GAMES
SEATTLE 26 TAMPA BAY 38
The Bandits (2-0) scored 14 points in the final 4:47 to drop Seattle to 0-2 for the first time since 1988 in the Thursday Nite match-up. Leading by 2 late, the Scorpions lost the lead when Tampa's Jimmy Wild scampered for a 27 yd score, then FS Buck Tyrell swiped Marcus Cone and returned it to the Seattle 32 before Wild punched it in again to seal it.
NEW JERSEY 35 BIRMINGHAM 28
George Wilson carried 28 times for a bruising 135 yds plus a touchdown as the Aces (1-1) dropped Birmingham to 0-2 for the 1st time in franchise history. The Stallions Seth Norstrom passed for 394 and 2 TDs but was sacked 5 times. TE Owen Figueroa will face disciplinary action this week for allegedly head butting Referee John Vigner on the way to the locker room following the loss.

"If he isn't the best offensive threat in the league" Oakland Head Coach Clint McGwire said of HB Erik Davis after his Dragons destroyed their rival in the home opener "then I haven't met him." Davis piled up 188 rushing yards, added another 95 in receiving, scored twice, and even completed a 13 yd pass to QB Robbie Bosco. The win moved the Dragons up 2 games as the rest of the division slumped to 0-2.

The Warriors became the first defending champion to drop their first two games the following season since Denver in 1987 by coming up short again in Vegas. While veteran Jim Adair struggled, Manuel Schwarz had another efficient game, throwing for one TD and running for the winning score with 1:35 left. K Jan Carney went to 5-5 on the season by adding another late FG.

The Accolades spotted Utah (0-2) a 1st quarter FG then scored the next 27 pts to keep Montreal perfect on the season. Lewis Tenpenny caught 9 passes for 102 yds with 2 scores and Prince Taylor chipped in 143 rushing yards with another. Thunder Thompson's 2 sacks give him 5 on the early campaign.
