where after 18 seasons, and having been 15-1 on three previous occasions (including a heartbreaking week 16 loss in season 11 - where I threw away a 21-6 lead, no less!), I have just coached my first 16-0 regular season! And it's a fairytale story to end them all, with my two starring wide receivers and star running back all suffering early season-ending injuries, a rookie WR who started the season as 5th choice stepped up to provide 1900+ yards and 23 touchdowns. Also, a stellar defensive effort with my two starting defensive ends combining for 21 sacks and one of my cornerbacks making a team record 12 interceptions. But it's that wide receiver story, man, this is the reason I love UFL... for a text-based game, that it can produce these stories is AWESOME!
But now, the playoffs... the perfect season beckons...
One of those proud moments...

Yes, the Franklins finally "did a Miami" and wrapped up a 19-0 season, but have stuttered badly in the early stages of season 19, as time appears to be catching up on an ageing squad. It looks like a clearout soon and a new era on the horizon.Ben wrote:UFL leagues develop quite a history over time. It really is amazing. Hopefully the Sacramento Stallions can win a championship or two.
Joe, did you complete the perfect season?
Alas, the poor Stallions seem destined for 8-8 mediocrity at best. A mere 2 divisional titles in 18 seasons, and hampered by some wildly awful draft picks.
I'm considering re-locating a couple of franchises over the next few seasons. Any suggestions for new markets/franchise names? I wonder what kind of market Anchorage, Alaska would draw. Actually, I may save that one for the worldwide league idea I was toying with. Mexico City Aztecs vs. Tokyo Dragons, or London Royals vs. Buenos Aires Gauchos, anyone?

Unfortunately, it's also not as big in the UK as it once was. Our peak here really was around 86/7 with the Bears and "Fridge" Perry, and to a lesser extent when the initial WLAF happened with the London Monarchs winning the first World Bowl. Personally, being Scottish, my favourite European football memory is the Claymores winning World Bowl 96 at Murrayfield, and my seat being about 10 feet away from where they presented the trophy. I haven't paid much attention to NFL Germany, sorry, NFL Europe, since the league folded the Claymores and moved yet another franchise to Germany.
