Worried About Larry

Post by Benjamin »

In September of 2005, I emailed Larry and asked him if he planned to work on a UFL 3.0. He said that after October, he may have time to begin coding again. Well, December came around and I hadn't received a response from him, so I sent him another email. He did not send me a reply. So, just last week, I sent him an email and asked him if he was hanging in there, doing okay, etc. It has now been 8 days since I sent that email, and I have not received any reply. I am now officially worried.

I am going to try to send an email to his work email address. I will post here if I receive a response or not.

There could be any number of reasons for Larry not replying. It may be the case that he has work or personal time issues which have prevented him, he may simply have been too busy. The one which I'm sure we'd all rather not think about is that Larry is no longer interested in UFL. No, that's not possible, is it? :)

I certainly hope everything is okay with Larry. I know I am new here but from what Ben wrote it does seem like there may be a problem. Well, people do have personal situations that may take them from their hobbies. Hopefully, it is nothing serious.

Even if Larry wasn't interested in working on UFL, I think he would still email me. I have emailed both his work and home addresses and have received no reponse. That is unusual for him.

Guys, I finally got a reply from Larry. He is doing okay, although any UFL updates in the near future are unlikely.

That's a damn shame, the shopping list we had come up with would have made UFL even more impressive. What did Larry say about UFL, is he done with it for good, or is it something he may come back to in the future?

He said that he hasn't had a chance to work on the game lately and that he would email me when he wanted to start working on the game again. So he's defintely not done, but he did not specify a time frame. Frankly, I'm in no rush at all. UFL would greatly benfit from feature additions, but it's still a great game as it is right now.
