I like the site, steelerman. As far as adding UFL data to your site, there are a couple of ways that you could do it: UFL has a print-to-file feature that will print stats to a file. You could upload the stats files to your website and then put links to the files on an HTM page. That is what I do on...

Even if Larry wasn't interested in working on UFL, I think he would still email me. I have emailed both his work and home addresses and have received no reponse. That is unusual for him.

Worried About Larry

In September of 2005, I emailed Larry and asked him if he planned to work on a UFL 3.0. He said that after October, he may have time to begin coding again. Well, December came around and I hadn't received a response from him, so I sent him another email. He did not send me a reply. So, just last wee...

Although I may not coach in my 2 main leagues, I am definitely emotionally involved. Rooting for my teams (49ers, Golden Bears) is why I play UFL. I am a huge fan of watching football on TV and, as strange as it may sound, UFL sims games in a watchable way better than Madden 2006. Watching a comp. v...

In my 2 main leagues, I let UFL coach all 32 teams. Even though UFL games only last 15-30 seconds or so, "watching" them can be quite entertaining. I love rooting for my 49ers and Golden Bears (0-4 in AFL Championship Games through 55 years of play!!! It killed me when they lost to the Was...

Well, originally Larry made a limited UFL demo (shareware) and posted it to various download sites like Shareware.com and Winsite.com. He also had his own UFL website on Geocities. I think I found the demo on Shareware.com, but I don't remember. The demo version came with one 8 team league and it co...

UFL Archives

I thought you guys might like see what the DOS version of UFL looked like. Here is the original DOS UFL Demo that got me hooked on UFL: http://bensweb.no-ip.info/stuff/oldufldemo.zip And here is the full version of UFL for DOS (I paid $30 for this originally!): http://bensweb.no-ip.info/stuff/oldufl...

steelerman, you certainly had to be creative back then. I have simmed football using coin flips before, but dice would have been a better method. As for webhosts, I don't know who to recommend. Joe's 50megs host looks like a good place to start. All of my websites I host myself on a server in my bed...

steelerman/joe:

There is no problem with mentioning UFL on your websites!!! I am not trying to be some super control-freak, I just don't want anyone to think that your sites are official in any way. My site is not even official; that's why it's called "The Unofficial UFL Home Page."

I like the look of the website. It has more detail than mine and the football counter is cool. One small gripe I would have is that the site says "Online Home of UFL : The Football Simulator" and "Welcome to UFL, the home of the Universal Football League" which, to me, implies th...

Go for it, Joe! Let me know what the address is when you get the site up.

I also find it diffcult to convey the greatness of text-based football to others!

Joe: Are you saying that you WANT to make a profit off of UFL? I assume that you meant to say "I've got NO intentions of making money..." If your site is non-profit, you are welcome to promote UFL and post the UFL files for download. That is not a problem; UFL needs all the promotion it ca...
